ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇSuperRoute
Introduction:
ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ
The SUPERROUTE system is a high-speed satellite Internet
access system, by using terrestrial return channels (Dial
Modem, ISDN) to download messages to end users via the
high-speed satellite broadcasting system. SUPERROUTE,
perfectly combined with the satellite IP broadcasting
system, can provide a return channel for the simplex systems,
allowing a large number of applications, in which reverse
channel is demanded, to be run in high speed through the
satellite IP broadcasting system. The SUPERROUTE system
is able to support various protocols on the Internet,
and also is full compatible with various application softwares
in the Internet.
Main Features
ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ
Realizing the reverse channel for the satellite IP broadcasting
system, thus supporting two-way applications.
Seamless combination with the upper level application
programs (such as IE, Netscape, Ftp) at the client end.
Simplified interfaces at the client end.
Supporting multi-users to share a common end site for
high-speed network access (multi-users version).
Supporting authentication mechanism for safety (optional).
The bandwidth separately allocated for each client (optional).
Billing system (optional).
System Components
ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ
Hub station (SUPERROUTE Server).
SUPERROUTE Server can:
Connect the Internet with the head end of the IP broadcasting
system.
Receive client request, perform message transfer and
send them to the
Internet
Deliver the messages to the authorized SUPERROUTE client
via the IP
broadcasting system.
The hub station should have Internet access capability
and IP broadcasting system.
Client end (SUPERROUTE Client)
SUPERROUTE client can:
Transfer
client's message.
Transfer
all messages of the client end's LAN (enterprise version).
The client end should have a Dialup Modem to access
to the local ISP (no special request on ISP ), and a
receiver or a computer with a receiving card.
Applications
ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ
Various Internet applications:
WWW
browsing
ftp
documents high-speed download
Applications
for the clients demanding reverse channel
E-mail
telnet
Safety Authentication:
ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ
There are two levels of safety authentication. One is
provided by the IP broadcasting system for authorization
of message package filtering at client's local area
network. The other is provided by the SUPERROUTE system.
Each time SUPERROUTE client end will apply to SUPERROUTE
Server for authentication, after being conformed, SUPERROUTE
client end can implement message transfer.
Billing System
ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ
Billing system installed at the SUPERROUTE head end
can generate billing information depending on the size
of each message and the destination address of each
message.
Version:
ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ
The SUPERROUTE client has two versions: single user
version and multi-users version.
The single user version: transferring messages on the
only computer installed the SUPERROUTE software.
The multi-users version: transferring all messages within
the local computer network of each site
